Toxin Free Toner

So just like with my DIY makeup remover when I became aware of all of the toxins in my makeup and skincare products I immediately made a huge shift in my personal care routine! I have skin that at nearly 27 years of age is still prone to breakouts around my time of the month or when I am stressed. I don’t love switching products because that usually triggers a breakout but knew that I had to make a shift.

I originally planned to start with this toner and gradually add in more natural or DIY skincare but my skin responded so well to this toner that I haven’t had to add anything else! The low-maintenance side of me was absolutely thrilled when I realized this!

You can find “recipes” just like this one all over the internet, primarily because of how stinkin simple it is to make. You only need 3 ingredients and a bottle to put them all in.

All you need is:

Witch Hazel (I like this one)

Tea Tree Oil

Lavender Oil

A small bottle to mix everything in (the one I use is about 3 ounces)

I put in about 10 drops of the lavender and 10 drops of the tea tree oil and fill the rest with witch hazel.

Make sure to shake the bottle before each use to redistribute the oils

Benefits of witch hazel:

Has antioxidant and astringent properties

Kills bacteria in your pores

Treats acne, oily skin, psoriasis, ingrown hairs (just to name a few)!

Does not dry out your skin

Benefits of lavender oil:

Calms acne

Improves complexion

Soothes dry skin

Helps treat dark spots

Benefits of tea tree oil:

Fights acne (can be very drying so make sure you are moisturizing as well!)

Antiseptic

Relieves sunburn

*some people are allergic to tea tree oil so do a patch test*

I honestly love this toner I use it when I wake up and before I go to bed and it makes my skin feel so clean but it doesn’t dry my skin out or irritate it the way other acne treatments did!
