Chakras and Essential Oils

Chakras are essentially energy centers in each of our being that can be balanced or imbalanced. If you go back and read this post you can learn the basics of the chakras. When your chakra is closed or imbalanced you want to work to balance or open it for optimal wellness. These energy centers can manifest as very real physical symptoms.

There are lots of ways to help balance your chakras, today we are addressing an easy way to practice opening and balancing your chakras.

Essential oils are super powerful, natural tools that have a myriad of uses. Certain essential oils can help balance out our chakras.

Root chakra (muladhara)

Located at the base of the spine and is responsible for our sense of security and grounding.

Use patchouli oil or vetiver oil

 

Sacral chakra (svadhistana)

Located below your navel and is responsible for creativity

Use orange oil, ylang ylang oil, or jasmine oil

 

Solar plexus chakra (manipura)

Located in your stomach and navel area and is responsible for self-esteem

Use lemon oil or grapefruit oil

 

Heart chakra (anahata)

Located at your heart center and is responsible for feelings of love and peace

Use rose oil or marjoram oil

 

Throat chakra (vishudha)

Located at your throat, is responsible for inspiration and your ability to speak your truth

Use peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil

 

Third eye chakra (ajna)

Located at the top of your head and is responsible for your intuition

*I typically put this on my forehead and around my hairline*

Use lavender oil or rosemary oil



Crown chakra (sahasrara)

Located at the very top of your head and is responsible for universal connection

Use frankincense oil

 

I will often use any combination of these oils on the energy centers they are meant to help with when I am feeling imbalance. For symptoms of an imbalanced center head to this post . I will also use these oils prior to meditation to help open myself up and ground down.
