My Week of Yoga: Sharing My Practice

Coming off of my first weekend of yoga teacher training I was absolutely excited, exhilarated, and exhausted. I had a fun week of yoga and also some opportunities to share my practice with others!

Monday:

I have one of those crummy winter colds that seems to drag on forever. However, this hour-long hot yoga class was exactly what my body needed. It was such a welcome reminder of what my body is capable of.

Tuesday:

Cardio and core with 20 minutes of self-guided practice. I also cued and practiced with my husband for about 25 minutes.

Wednesday:

I had the opportunity to lead two different yoga “classes” today! It was awesome to be able to share my practice with others and it was an eye-opener for me to realize how I need to clarify my cues more!

Thursday:

I did an hour and a half of home self-led yoga and core. I am beginning to appreciate my solo time on my mat more and more.

Saturday:

Favorite class of the week is this 75-minute vinyasa flow class. We had a snow storm the night before so I reaped the benefits of a small class. This allowed the instructor time for more adjustments and the ability to help or push students where they needed it. This also marked my 50th yoga class with the studio I am doing my training with!

Sunday:

Today I did 20 short minutes of restorative yin yoga following a leg and ab workout. I still feel pretty run down so it was nice to have a yoga practice that catered to my body instead of pushing it in a really physical practice.



Strength-Based Class: 1 hours 15 minutes

Self-Practice: 2 hours 35 minutes

Hot Yoga Class: 1 hour

Taught Yoga: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Total: 6 hours 5 minutes
